They are majoring in minors. The onlyway todo the job is to lower costs in health care and cut the military. We have to cut half of Health and Human Services or $400 Billion. That can only be done with complete industry reform and competition in the care industry. Republicans do have good ideas with higher deductions for insurance. Consumers need to actually see the prices of health care and be responsible for basic care so that it is market oriented. The more we have to pay for our own care, the more we shop around for lower prices and the more the cost will go down. But the real key is to strive for a more healthy country. We should be investing in urban gardens and bike and walking paths. We should pay for this with taxes on food made with high fructose corn syrup and saturated fats. Seventy five percent of our costs are based on chronic diseases from obesity and diabetes. And a large percentage of that is administrative. We should be investing in technology for transparency in information. The cost of care has increased 300% in the last 3 decades in our country a lone. The problem is in our food and our processes. We don't need to cancel services, we need to change the process. With in 10 years we could cut our costs in half if we do the necessary reforms now. We could also cut $100 to $200 from our military budget. And we need to raise taxes on the top 1% to gain the revenues to balance the budget. Once we start paying off the debt, we will get a surplus of over $400 billion from the treasury from not having to pay interest payments on the debt. |
